German FarmInsect raises in €8M to boost scale-up of insect-based livestock feed technology

FarmInsect offers farmers a solution to use regional organic residues to produce insect larvae. The insect larvae can then be fed to the farm animals as protein feed instead of imported soy or fishmeal. FarmInsect provides a machine and IoT system that enables the automated production of insects alongside a continuous supply with young larvae for fattening. This enables a circular economy where farmers can reduce up to 30 % of their costs, increase animal health and save over 50 % of CO2 emissions.
